Bride sweet Bride

January 27, 2011 Ashley and Anthony were married.
I was fortunate to have Ashley as a friend and client. Ashley is probably the most relaxed bride I have ever seen. We usually color her hair bright oranges, reds and blondes, but for the wedding we toned it down with more reds, coppers and browns. Her hair we cut in a slight A-line bob with slight graduation in the back. In the front we chopped some cute fringe that were a little more fun to show off her sassy side. She accessorized beautifully and here are the pictures to prove it.

21st and Ivy

21st and Ivy is a local blog run by local volunteers. There was once Square Mag and now it has evolved into a hip local, music, fashion blog. Hillary told me her friend Alyssa needed a last minute hair and makeup artist so I sprang at the chance. I styled the hair using Kevin Murphy Products, favorites were Anti-gravity, Session spray and the screen siren kit. For makeup styling I used Mac and Color touch. They did a spread on Fall Weather fashion using vintage wear and Banana Republic. I styled 3 models, the last one being Mrs. Utah, she looks like Demi Moore.... So gorgeous, anyways I had a lot of fun working with the models and the photographer,
Alyssa Vincent. Style-Sweater Weather

More!

Its here my first paid published gig. I am so happy! This has been MY year.More magazine wanted to spoil the star of their featured article, Juliette Watt. She looks amazing, Kanab was amazing the photographer and the stylist were amazing!!! So grateful, I had so much fun. I gave Juliette's hair a deep condition with essential repair by Pureology, a hair cut with round layers, blow dry and style with Brocato products and curled with a flat iron to keep waves lasting and natural. For makeup I used Eve Pearl and Color Touch.

Check out the full story HERE. She is the most inspiring woman of her age, it just goes to show there is so much we are capable of and the only limit is ourselves.

Remember remember the 5th of November

The wedding and pudding and such, I should think of No reason that my dear Jordan, as-he-says ever has forgot. ....And he didn't. We had a lovely dinner at the Naked Fish. Not like the first time, but it was good. Citrus Prawns were to die for. I can't say Prawn without thinking about District 9... shiver.... Then we saw a concert on the corner, a bag pipe man playing outside of a jazz concert. We crashed a wedding for a minute until I felt too weird being there because we didn't know them. But their band was good! Then we went to the Clark planetarium and played around with the science stuff. It was a lovely day. Jordan gave me beautiful red roses and dinner and I gave him Trader Joe's chocolate, GQ mens style manual (Which every man should own if he wants to look successful, issue out til January 2011) AND the new Black Keys album, (which is for both of us). I had so much fun. I love Jordan so much. Its been a hard two years but totally worth it. I am excited for the future. Everyday I have someone to hang out with, talk to, call, kiss.... literally my best friend in the whole world. It feels too good to be true sometimes. My dearest and best friend. We need to invent a bigger word for fun sometimes. Pictures soon. And hilarious videos

Haunts

For halloween I went as Karen O. AKA lead singer of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's. Its a band, if you don't know them you should look them up. They are so amazing.

Me taken over by the power of gypsy woman Kaneischa. Love that one eye. creepy.

Jessica as the creepiest clown ever.

Katie as the princess from the never ending story. She did an amazing job. All of this she got as Forever 21, PS.
My T-rex pumpkin! And my long extensions that I had for a minute because they were so itchy I couldn't take it. Moral of the story don't do bond glue unless you don't feel anything. And if you need to get oil and glue out of your hair and Dawn dishwashing soap doesn't do it, use Beer. Strips everything right out. Beer rinses on kids hair during the summer with shampoo is also good as my friend Mandy Hawkes shared with me as she saved my hair with Beer. I still love you Mandy and my hair so much.
Chance's Steven Colbert pumpkin. The stare down.
Pumpkin carving with the Erdmann's, the Taylor's and the Clefts and Bryan. Accompanied with hot chocolate and Cider thanks to Hillary and followed up with the movie Army of Darkness. Super bad/awesome cult classic. Rent it. Its my new favorite Halloween movie. But still a second to Young Frankenstein.
I love Karen O. I did the Karen face. Im muy proud. this was hard to imitate. And not look gross, she makes it look cute and qwirky ok?
I hope you all know who that is on the left. If not its our friend Cory as Antoine Dodson from the Bed Intruder video on YouTube. Such a funny video, sad story but it has a happy ending. And my husband Jordan is on the right as Kurt Cobain in a dress. ......My dress.... that he barely fit.
We have(l to r) Nun. Karen O. Pink Flamingo. Beat up Hives member. Joaquin Phoenix. Super something girl. Army dude (sorry if there was more to that), Rainbow bright, vampire ninja and I still don't know what Chance was......
We are so cute....
Monkey Grinder played on Saturday at Velour Live Music Gallery and Chance Lewis, Gypsy cab and other friends played at Muse. Happy Halloween. The makeup for Karen O I used Ben Nye makeup and set it with a Ben Nye spray. You can probably get that and some fine tipped brushes at your local makeup costume shop. The year round kind. Not the seasonal ones. Good luck to you, all those colors were so fun to play with. The next night I made Jordan a dead Kurt Cobain, better fitting for sure.
